Testosterone & TRT, honestly — treatment vs. hype

Testosterone therapy is legitimate medicine for men with genuine deficiency — and a booming "optimisation" industry for men who mostly aren’t deficient. The honest headline: treat a real, symptomatic, lab-confirmed deficiency; be very sceptical of chasing high-normal numbers for vitality.

What testosterone does — and what "low T" means

Testosterone drives male sexual development, muscle and bone maintenance, red-blood-cell production, libido and aspects of mood and energy. Levels decline gradually with age (roughly ~1% a year from midlife) — a normal, slow drift, not automatically a disease.

True hypogonadism means consistently low testosterone on morning blood tests plus real symptoms (low libido, erectile problems, fatigue, loss of muscle). That combination is treatable and worth treating. A single mediocre reading with vague tiredness is not the same thing — and much of the "low T" marketing blurs that line.
